You can only find this here in the whole world! So cool isn’t it? I love things local, exclusively so local that you cannot find anywhere else on the planet. Even if you can find it, they just simply taste different for many reasons.

This is not your homemade firecrackers. This is the original Malay Lemeng that we learned to make with our dear ma-jis. I know I sounded very ignorant… hmmm…I beginning to feel like I couldn’t stop blogging on what we did in Malaysia. Here’s a shot of our breakfast on our last day of shooting. I was pretty surprise to see how the toast was presented honestly, it was pretty – simple and pretty. I don’t think Ya-kun… I don’t think Ya-Kun has anything like [...] I always enjoy learning local cooking when I travel overseas. So I was really excited when I had the chance to learn making Lemang from the Malay locals. Prior to this, the closest that I have tasted was the ketupat served with satay. The more commonly seen Ketupat is made from regular rice, wrapped in [...] The filming goes on and on forever while I continue my search for the some fantastic local eats. Whenever I pass by a place that has a sign that says ”hor” or “fun” on it, it interests me greatly. We were at this 24-hr coffee shop (wow how impressive considering this is such a small town) [...] I never grew up in a kampong and I never thought I missed out on anything. Haha…but one visit to my new friend’s kampong seems to have changed my opinion. |
