K.L Wantan mee
Some months back I posted on how those who really loved wantan mee can only get their fix from those in Malaysia or the original K.L version prepared with the REAL dark soy sauce (no ketchup pleasssse).
So what do you do when you really miss the REAL stuff? What do you do when you live in a place that just doesn’t have the necessary ingredients to prepare some of your own childhood favorites? I find myself in those situations many times during those years when I was living in H and V and the feeling sucks big time.
You just miss the food so much but without the actual ingredients, it will never be the same. There are only this much satifiaction replacements can give. So what did I do? Well of course I went up north in search of my wantan mee ingredients.
I took an early flight up north and by 9am I found myself happily enjoying my plate of K.L wantan along Petaling Street (Chinatown). I visited a wantan mee factory and got my fresh wantan noodles back with me.
So over the weekends I finally made my own soy chicken mee (with dark sauce of course) witht he ingredients I got from K.L and I must say not only do they look as good as those I had in K.L, they tasted great too! Of course I got a bundle of wantan mee back, sadly my dark soy sauce did not made it through custom becos I did not check in my luggage.
