Lunch @ KO

I happened to be in Bugis area today and was seriously craving for some sushi. I initially couldn’t think of a good place until KO came to mind. The restaurant was previously Suntory but ever since replacing Suntory at Hotel intercontinental, it has been much under the radar that I have forgotten about its existence until I was…………hungry.

The décor and food was pretty close to Suntory standard. Lunch crowd was surprisingly good as well. We had a very decent lunch set, comprising of your own choice of 2 items from a list of 20 or so, accompanied by the usual appetizer, miso soup and choice or white or brown rice. I realize that more and more Japanese restaurants here are serving Japanese brown rice and I’m kind of happy to learn that.

Much to my surprise, KO also has a micro-biotic menu. Micro-biotic food has been in quite a craze in Japanese restaurants in US lately and I was still wondering when the trend will catch up here in SIngapore. I guess KO has already taken the first step. Because I was yearning for some sushi,  I didn’t order the Macrobiotic set but I have already keep it in mind to drop by another day to try.

KO also has one of the nicest Goma ice-cream around.  The generous serving of ice-cream came with a very tasty Edamame paste and Japanese dumplings that goes pretty well with the goma ice-cream.
